FASTLANE RACING LEGENDS FLINTSTONE FLYER PLYMOUTH BARRACUDA This is for the decal only, car is not included This decal is for a Flame Red car flintstone-64 1/64th HO Scale Slot Car Decals This decal is available in all scales at different prices 1/18th - 1/24th -1/25th - 1/32nd - 1/43rd - 164th An early take on the emerging funny car genre, this Cuda was built by David Koffel and Ron Tiestze, using an acid-dipped steel body and a tubular steel frame designed by Chrysler's structures laboratory. A 426 cubic-inch Chrysler Hemi with Hillborn fuel injected provided massive muscle, transmitted to the rear wheels via a Clutch Flyte transmission. One of a series of drag cars dubbed the Flintstone Flyers, the Cuda carried Koffel to many A/XS class wins, including the first place at the 1968 National Hot Rod Association Winter Nationals, U.S. Nationals, and NASCAR drag racing series. Koffel brought some unusual credentials to the track. He holds a graduate degree in metallurgy, as well as undergrad credits in physics, qualifications that led to a full-time engineering position at Chrysler Corporation in 1968, where he worked with top Mopar racers like Pro Stock ace Bob Glidden. In 1980 he went on to open a speed shop - Koffel's Place - in Walled Lake, Michigan, and another in his home town of Huron, Ohio. Today the shops are run by his sons, Scott and Rich, while the senior Koffel provides occasional advice and oversees an extensive collection of cars and racing memorabilia. This 1968 Plymouth Barracuda Flintstone Flyer Funny Car was restored by the sons of the original builders - Scott Koffel and Randy Tietze. FASTLANE The detail on these decals is great. These decals are very thin and can be torn. Because they are so thin, they leave almost no edge! If you would like to make them stronger, you can coat them with Model Master gloss LACQUER overcoat #1961. This is the coating that is currently on this decal. Be sure to test other sprays if you choose not to use Model Master. The decal film is continuous, so remember to cut close to the graphics as you can. If you like to use a protective coat on your finished project, I use Future Floor wax or a number of light coats of a good quality clear lacquer like Model Masters.
